BROOKLYN/RIDGEWOOD AVAILABLE -STUDIO SPACE!! Hey friends we have a spot opening up in the visual art studio off the Jefferson L in Brooklyn! March 1 or later if needed. 3mo, 6mo or 1yr lease with first/last/deposit (commercial space). ($1650 to move in, first and last month and deposit. You can break it up if you really want it but are strapped. I need that security from studio mates since my overhead is so high).
$550/mo to share the large art studio space, including a large desk or two, chairs, shelf and closet storage not pictured. I pay over $2.3.k/mo total rent. Bills and internet included. There are three of us including me, you would be the third or fourth… I’m barely using the space and working out of a metal shop nearby, just coming in to draw sometimes. This has worked well for years, and you're almost always going to have the space to yourself. You set up a workstation /use my furniture if needed, on tbe window side or right side of space. We all are young femme artists working so we just come in and paint draw or sculpt a bit between gigs.
DESKS AND CHAIRS for you are in space, and shelves and storage room for artwork, not pictured out of frame.
This space is best for painting, illustration, office work, occasional photoshoots, dust-free fabrication, jewelry, etc. Tools available include air compressor, hand saw, electric drills, large sink in studio, etc. Heat, AC works (I have two units to keep it cool). Have fridge, microwave, hot plate, teapot, coffee pot. There is a large speaker for occasional use. There is a giant deck with seating where we chill, shoot and watch the fireworks annually. There is a nice couch - you see it here in the window but we actually keep that area clear and its closer to the entrance. Been here 9+ years.
In all these years of having 1 or 2 studio mates at a time, there has almost never been a coworking at the same time vibe because everyone’s schedules are so different. I travel a lot so there have been empty months and weeks often. So the space is your oyster as long as you keep your stuff tidy in one of the areas.
Visitors allowed but prefer you keep it to only professional art-related visits up to two hours so the space is clear (occasional assistant work ok only if cleared in advance). This place is for SOLO art work. You may not pay the requested rent for two people, such as yourself or an assistant or yourself and a friend. This ad is for one individual artist to join us. Available for few months sublet, preferably 6months and up to 1yr lease, longer etc. Not pictured is behind the camera a number of wall shelves which you could use. Plenty of tables and chairs to use, or you can have blank floor space as well.

-I travel for exhibitions and residencies on a regular basis
-When working alone, music is fine. When co-working, we often use headphones
-We tend to just keep a group text and inform each other when we are going to be at the studio if both of us is in town, which is rare
-I have been based in the NYC area for over a decade each and have family here, same for numerous past studio mates
-Keep the studio smelling nice 🌸 .

and if your art process makes a big smell it should be nontoxic,
leave the space within a matter of hours, open the window etc.
STUDIO RULE
-Clean up after yourself and stay organized, wipe your floor area, always. If there’s any issue where you feel like taking it personally when asked to clean up, sharing a space isn’t the vibe. The space only works because we keep it clean and serene, I am not a janitor. Love
